By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
At St Therese Catholic Primary School Padstow our gifted and talented students are offered opportunities to explore their areas of strength in the form of competitions and tournaments such as NSW University Mathematics, English, Spelling, Science and Digital Technologies, Christmas Art Competition, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshops and many more.
Many of our students have progressed through to regional and state representative teams in a wide variety of sports including; basketball, swimming, athletics, softball and cricket.
Our students also have opportunities to participate in performing arts with specialist teachers who conduct weekly lessons, as well as additional participation in Dance Fever, the annual Talent Quest and dance workshops.
